Is Joining Private Jet Clubs For Luxury Travel Really Worth It?

Unless you're one of the lucky few who's able to own a private jet on their own, your only choices for traveling privately are either through a private jet charter company, or through private jet clubs. With the popularity of these two methods, it's easy to assume that there is no better way to travel than through them. Nothing could be further from the truth, however. Here are some of the top reasons why you should never go through a private jet charter company:

A Private Jet Charter Company - Often times, you may get into a situation where you have an extremely busy schedule, and cannot make it to your next flight in time. If this happens, you can always go to your preferred airline, and book flights within their fleet hours. However, what most people do not realize is that many private jet clubs actually charge you to be placed on their waitlist. If you are a busy business professional with a lot of planes to fly, you may simply be unable to fit yourself on the same plane as your friends, family, and colleagues. By paying the fee, you may be preventing yourself from taking advantage of discounts that other people are taking advantage of. Click on the link to learn more about private jet membership.

Empty Seats - Another major problem with many flight companies and private jet clubs is that they place you on a flight, even when there are actually empty seats on the plane. This happens when the company wants to make more money, and has to make flights in order to meet that quota. The result is that you may actually be stuck on an overcrowded plane, while your friends are able to sit comfortably, without any problem. While you may be tempted to complain, it is important to keep in mind that you have a right to be on these flights.

Not Available Flights - Most private jet clubs and airlines will only sell their planes to people who already own planes of their own. When a new plane is made available through a private charter sale, it becomes available to everyone else who signs up for the sale. This means that you could be stuck sitting on an empty plane with no way to get home. By opting out, you may be avoiding this type of scenario. Even if you find a plane that is available, the cost of chartering it can easily top the price of owning one.

Limited Knowledge - While you can learn a lot about flying a private jet via online resources, you will still need to be familiar with the plane itself before you sign up. Many of the planes that are for sale are in actual production. These planes have not yet been used by anyone, so they are very limited in the knowledge that they are in fact flying jets. If you want to fly these, it is necessary to be able to fly a plane of the same brand and model. Most of the time, you can acquire this information simply by calling the manufacturer or by visiting the company's website. However, some companies work with private jet clubs and may be unable to give you any information without a fee.

High Price For Joining - Even though most of the planes that are for sale at specialty aircraft companies are in actual production, there can be high prices associated with joining one of these clubs. You are often required to purchase a membership which costs several thousand dollars. Although the money is steep for the amount of prestige that is associated with owning one of these luxurious travel options, the cost of using it does not have to match the price of your membership.

Although most private jet clubs require a significant investment of money, the amount of time that you spend learning how to fly and experience the luxury travel that is possible with the planes are worth the costs. An alternative post for more info on the topic here:
